Can Chiropractic Help Tennis Elbow?
If you’ve been dealing with tennis elbow for weeks or even months, you’ve probably wondered why it isn’t getting better.
Many people try resting it, wearing a brace, taking anti-inflammatory medication, or even going through physical therapy. Those treatments can absolutely help, but sometimes the pain keeps coming back because the underlying problem hasn’t been fully addressed.
One thing many people don’t realize is that tennis elbow isn’t always just a tendon problem.
The muscles of the forearm, the wrist, the elbow joint, and even the shoulder can all affect how much stress is placed on the tendon. If those areas aren’t moving well, the tendon may continue to become irritated every time you lift, grip, play pickleball, golf, tennis, or even use a computer mouse.
In this video, I’m demonstrating some of the hands-on treatment techniques I commonly use for patients with tennis elbow. Depending on the individual, treatment may include manual therapy, extremity adjusting, soft tissue treatment, and, when appropriate, dry needling.
Every patient is different, so treatment should always be based on a thorough examination to determine what’s actually contributing to the pain.
If you’ve been frustrated because your tennis elbow isn’t improving or keeps returning, we’d be happy to evaluate your condition and discuss whether chiropractic care may be an appropriate option for you.
